About The Practitioner

Heather Lawton Owner and Lead Practitioner is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Life Wellness Coach, Yoga & Pilates Instructor with 20 plus years experience. She holds a degree in Psychology and Expressive Arts from Naropa University in Boulder, Co. She has over 20 years experience doing Massage, Equine Massage, Equine Therapy and Contemplative Horseback Riding c, post race Massage on many athletes from Pro Elite, to athletes just starting, races ranging from Pro UCI and Pro USA Cycling to local Triathlons and Running Races.  Heather’s is an advanced practitioner in Sports Massage, Thai Massage & Injury Rehabilitation. Heather is also a Reiki Master & is available to teach Reiki, Yoga, Pilates, Eco- Psychology, Creative Dance Process & Movement Therapy Classes. She is also a USSA Certified Ski Race Coach.

Experience: Heather has worked on thousands of pro athletes over the last last 20 years at races & in Chiropractors & Osteopathic Drs. Offices. She is a competitive athlete herself ski racing and Horseback riding from age 6 till the current day. Heather has also worked in an Occupational Rehab office. In her own practice she helped people recover from Sciatica, frozen shoulders, Colic.  She has helped Horses feel more comfortable with people and being ridden, Horses from Cribbing, and Puppies from wineing. She healed her own ACL after tearing it skiing off a clif training for exteam ski competition.

She is an Outdoor Guide and Teaching various Outdoor Sports such as Horseback Riding, Sailing, Canoeing, Theraputic Dance Movement classes.

Heather Lawton is also a Certified Personal Trainer, Life Wellness Coach Yoga & Pilates Instructor with the International Sports Medicine Association & a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist with more than than 20 years experience.

Heather is also an Outdoor Educator & guide with over 20 years experience. She had the fortune of attending a ski academy and skiing 6 days a week since she was 12, she was then able to start teaching in the outdoors as a teenager. She also attended Prescott College and took many classes in Outdoor Education and recreation.

 

Athletic Accomplishments

Heather came in 2nd in 2011 & 4th in 2009, in the Dojoe a Tele uphill downhill ski race

She placed 3rd in the COSMIC Marrmot Grind Uphill Downhill at Arapahoe Basin 2009 Hiking all the way to the top of Leenaway Peak

She was Champion of The Legends’ Cup Downhill that Olympic Goal Medalist Doug Lewis put on at Sugarbush Feb. 2007. https:// www.skiracing.com/?q=node/5319

Heather Ski Raced all events in the Junoir Olypics in Vermont

Heather was the female champion of the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge for all of Colorado in 2003.

Heather came in 6th at the Extreme competition in Aspen Colorado in the spring of 2006 that was sponsored by Freeride PowerAde and held on the Hanging Valley Head Wall at Snowmass / Aspen.

She is an Outdoor Educator & guide with 23 years experience. She had the fortune of attending a ski academy and skiing 6 days a week since she was 12. She raced Division 1 College in the North East for New England College, she was in the top 3rd of the field in Giant Slalom. She was then able to start teaching in the outdoors as a teenager. She also attended Prescott College and took many classes in Outdoor Education and recreation.
